About Teacher
Born on 7 January 1977 in Gwalior, his initiation to music started with Shri Dilip Vasant Moghey, Smt. Sadhna Gore and in Tansen Sangeet College.
He has done B. Com in Marketing Management from Maharani Lakshmi Bai, autonomous commerce and art college and M.A. in music. He worked in marketing section of Rupa and Company Limited to support his music training. He devoted himself to Dhrupad style from 1993 after listening Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar in concert and has been learning Dhrupad in the Guru Shishya Tradition from Ustad till Ustad Sahab’s demise..Abhijeet became the first professional Dhrupad exponent from “Gwalior”,the City of Mansingh Tomar and Miyan Tansen. He has been doing sincere hard work to increase awareness of Dhrupad in Gwalior since 2002.Since more than 12 years, after getting permission from his Ustad to perform and to teach Dagarvani Dhrupad, he has been teaching and performing. His style of singing in the pure Dagarvani style carries the true colours of his Guru’s training with sonorous voice and sturdy notes. Gradually he is grasping more and more knowledge of the genre. He is developing his art of presentation and spreading the art by teaching and presenting papers in conferences.Graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan
